I’m so grateful I found Diane on my journey as a mom. I met Diane over two years ago with my first baby, and now I reached out to her again for my second, and she was there for me right away. Literally one day before her vacation, she made sure I felt supported and cared for right after the birth of my second daughter. Diane isn’t just an amazing professional, she’s also a wonderful person. I recommend her to all my friends, and honestly, I wish there were more professionals like her in this world.
Diane is amazing and we are so grateful for her, especially as first time parents navigating unexpected difficulties! Diane took the time to truly listen to our concerns and used her knowledge/expertise to come up with solutions tailored to our needs.

Diane provides detailed notes after each visit and is very responsive with anything that may come up between sessions. Even after we finished our meetings, we can still reach out anytime with questions. This demonstrates her care and dedication to our continued success.

We cannot recommend Diane enough!!
Could not recommend Lactation Room enough! They saved my life as a first time mom. They came recommended by my pediatrician and I am so glad! Ania in the Rockville location is remarkable. She has worked with us over the last 12 weeks to help get our baby up to weight, work on the latch, and scheduling for pumping and nursing. She had been one of the best resources in helping us make sure our baby is thriving and growing. She's also been so helpful for my mental health as a mother. So grateful for her and this incredible company!

Highly encourage you to use their vast resources and expertise!
Diane was so helpful working through tongue/lip tie and general feeding challenges. There’s always something to learn and I am so grateful for the support throughout the process. She took time to explain (and write!) lots of helpful information and often sent messages to check in on us between our appointments. Definitely recommend if you are looking for some help during the unpredictable baby stages!
This place is wonderful. Breastfeeding was always something I hoped to do, but when I experienced constant pain for weeks, I knew I needed professional support. Finding Dawn was one of the best decisions I made. She truly saved my breastfeeding journey.

My baby had both a tongue tie and a lip tie, and Dawn guided us through every step of the process with expertise, patience, and compassion. Her support, encouragement, and practical advice made all the difference during a challenging time.

Thanks to Dawn’s guidance, I was able not only to continue breastfeeding but to genuinely enjoy the experience. I am incredibly grateful for her help and would highly recommend her to any parent needing breastfeeding support.
Response from the owner:Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Breastfeeding is such a personal journey and we are so appreciative that you allowed us to be a part of it.
I cannot recommend Liba enough. As a first-time mom to a premature baby with tongue and lip ties, I was completely overwhelmed and exhausted. After receiving conflicting and incorrect information at the hospital, I was struggling with low milk supply and severe postpartum depression. Liba was an absolute lifeline. She didn't just help me with my pumping technique and breastfeeding—she treated me with genuine kindness and patience when I felt like I had no idea what I was doing. She gave me the confidence and the skills I needed during my toughest days. If you are struggling, please reach out to her; she is truly gifted at what she does."
Response from the owner:Liba is fabulous and we are so happy to hear that you had such a wonderful experience with her. Thank you for sharing this very kind review.
Mary was amazing and truly made all the difference in my breastfeeding journey. She was so supportive, knowledgeable, and encouraging during the early months, and thanks to her help I was able to breastfeed my son for well over a year. I’m incredibly grateful for her support and would absolutely recommend her to other moms.
Response from the owner:Thank you for sharing how Mary’s support helped you along your feedings journey. We appreciate your kind review!
We had a great experience with Ania! She worked with us on everything from breastfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding to starting solid, and I learned so much! Very knowledgeable & warm.
Response from the owner:This is fabulous! We are so happy to have been able to support you through so many of the breastfeeding phases! Thank you for sharing!
I was recommended to Lactation Room, more specifically Liba. She was absolutely the best choice for lactation needs. She offers to come directly to your house where we felt most comfortable. The collaborative approach we got was remarkable. She helped size for the right flanges, make sure pumping needs were met, and that my son was latching and drinking optimally. Liba also helped with getting notes to a provider for a tongue release, and also with body work providers. I cannot recommend Liba enough for any woman looking for support in her breast feeding journey. Your body and baby will thank you! Thank you Liba!!
First time moms!!!!! Please get help from lactation if you want to exclusively breastfeed! I really wanted to with my daughter but we didn't get her tongue tie released properly and she had to get it redone at 6 months and by then she wasn't able to learn another way to nurse and she struggled to keep my supply up and latch properly. I was only able to nurse her until she was 9 months and then I kept getting mastitis and felt it was too stressful to continue. I had some help with lactation but I really had to work with multiple approaches and early on to make sure we were successful.

I worked with Diane Litwin for nursing our 2nd baby. He had a tongue tie and we got it released with Dr. Rishita Jaju at Smile Wonders and worked with Diane together to help him get the best start to nursing. It was hard work but we were able to exclusively breastfeed and continue until he was 2. I also worked with Diane to help come up with a plan to wean since he was so attached.

I hope this review helps someone else!
I cannot say enough amazing things about the Lactation Room, specifically Diane. She truly saved my breastfeeding journey — not once, but twice. She supported me with both my first and second child, and I am so incredibly grateful for her care and expertise.

Diane is extremely knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely cares about moms. She takes the time to truly listen and puts everything into perspective during what can feel like a very overwhelming season. What I appreciated most is that she works with your goals, whether that’s nursing directly, increasing milk supply while pumping, combo feeding, or preparing to return to work. She also gave thoughtful guidance around maintaining mental health postpartum, which meant so much to me.

She doesn’t just focus on mom ; she carefully evaluates baby as well. She monitored weight gain, assessed feeding effectiveness, and checked for possible lip and tongue ties. Both of my babies ended up having ties, and because of her thorough assessment, we were referred to an excellent pediatric dentist to have them revised. That made a huge difference in feeding for both children.

I always opted for in-home visits (there is an additional travel fee), and it was absolutely worth it. When you have a newborn, staying home is just so much easier than packing everything up and going out. Having her come to me made the entire experience less stressful and more productive.

She provides extremely detailed notes after each visit and is impressively fast with communication. What’s even more reassuring is that her support doesn’t just end after the visits. Even after we finished our home sessions, we can still reach out anytime with questions, which is invaluable because there are so many feeding questions that come up throughout the entire first year.

If you’re considering a lactation consultant, book with Diane. She is compassionate, thorough, and truly life-changing.
Grateful doesn't come close to how I feel. I've worked with Liba, Mary, Beth, and Anya and each one has been incredibly supportive and helpful. All my babies have had tongue ties and lip ties which caused nursing to be extremely painful. Both me and my babies suffered... Until I met with these amazing women. My nursing journeys are successful only because of their constant support. I try to nurse for a year and they are with me every step of the way, month by month. I'm so thankful to have these women in my life!
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for your heartfelt review. Your words truly mean the world to our team. Supporting families through challenging feeding journeys is at the core of what we do, and we are so honored to have walked alongside you. Our providers are deeply committed to compassionate, ongoing care, and hearing that you felt supported every step of the way is the greatest affirmation of that mission. Your dedication and perseverance are inspiring, and we are grateful you trusted us during such an important season. Thank you again for sharing your experience and for allowing us to be part of your journey. We’re always here for you!
Lactation room has been our absolute saving grace. My son was born with tongue and lip ties that we had thought were lasered properly at a week old. At around 6 months old I kept getting reoccurring clogged ducts, his food intolerance list kept getting longer and longer, he was not doing well with solids even by 8 months old, and I couldn’t figure out why he wasn’t sleeping at all. After an appointment with Melissa, we got a lot of guidance on where to go from here with the oral ties, for the food intolerances - she recommended us to Mary with lactation room, and after a few months of lots of dedicated work between OT, Melissa, myself and nutritional guidance from Mary we have come leaps and bounds!!! I truly cannot recommend lactation room enough, our lives would not be as seamless without them! Thank you so much to Melissa and Mary for helping us through some of the toughest challenges as first time parents!!
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We’re incredibly grateful for your kind words. Navigating feeding challenges and early parenthood can feel overwhelming, and we are honored that you trusted our team to support you during that season. Our providers are deeply committed to collaborative, whole-family care, and it means so much to hear that you felt guided and supported along the way. Watching families make progress and gain confidence is why we do what we do. Thank you again for allowing us to be part of your journey and for recommending our practice. We’re always here for you and your family!
We had such a wonderful LC experience with Ania! Throughout our process, she was warm, encouraging, knowledgeable, and supported our family’s evolving needs every step of the way, both inside and outside of sessions.
I had an amazing experience with Liba Golman! She is an incredible lactation specialist! She was knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely helpful before, during, and after our sessions. This was my fourth time breastfeeding/pumping, and even with prior experience, working with her made a world of difference in my postpartum and feeding journey.
Her guidance was clear, practical, and reassuring, and she met me exactly where I was without judgment. I felt empowered, confident, and supported every step of the way. I cannot recommend Liba highly enough to anyone looking for expert lactation support.
I cannot say enough good things about Jenny from LR. Our 9 week old was struggling to gain weight, dripping/leaking so much. The peds and hospital ensured us that he didn’t have any lip or tongue ties but I decided to get a third opinion and I am thankful I did because he ended up having both and was burning too much energy trying to drink. Jenny helped get us seen by a peds dentist that was also amazing. Our LO is thriving now and doing great thanks to Jenny and her support. We are very grateful for the LR and Jenny :)
Highly recommend Ania! She has been nothing but supportive over the years and I know we wouldn't have made it as long as we did in our journey without her. She is a well of knowledge and insight on many fronts. She is quick to respond and always has helpful information to share. In short, she is a treasure. Thank you, Ania!
Ania was extremely positive, encouraging and supportive. I couldn’t think of a better person to have in my circle during my breastfeeding journey.
I’ve worked with Diane through the Lactation Room from the very start of my breastfeeding/pumping journey. I can’t recommend Diane enough, she is so kind and helpful and truly wants you to succeed in whatever your personal feeding goals are. Diane is very responsive and detailed in her feedback and instruction, you can feel how educated and passionate she is about her line of work. I would not have had such a positive breastfeeding journey if it weren’t for Diane!
Diane Litwin has been nothing but the BEST lactation consultant for me and my son! From day one, her knowledge has made such a difference and brought me so much relief. She truly cares for her clients and works alongside them to find the best solutions possible. I’m so grateful I was recommended to her—she has been such an important part of our breastfeeding journey. Without a doubt, I recommend Diane 100%!

Thank you so much, Diane❤️
The support that the Lactation Room provides during such a vulnerable time for new moms is incredible. I worked with Mary Bailey and she is amazing — kind, motivating, empathetic, and most importantly realistic. In the early and overwhelming days post partum, Mary came to my house on a weekly basis, and later bi-weekly or monthly and eventually for occasional check-ins over telemed. She was knowledgeable and helpful with advising me on feeding my baby, pumping, preparing to return to work, but especially maintaining my own mental health during such a vulnerable period of time. I’m so glad that organizations like Lactation Room exist and provide support in these critical moments.
I highly recommend Lactation Room! My baby was able to get a healthy start to life thanks to Mary Bailey's expertise. She helped us through lip-tie and sleepiness issues, finding the correct flange size for pumping, and learning to do paced bottle feeding. Mary always had a positive and encouraging attitude as well, which gave me confidence in working through the difficult moments. Five stars for sure!
Liba and Mary in the Lactation Room are amazing! They were so kind and supportive, especially during my first week postpartum, the beginning was very difficult. I am greatful to found them. Thanks to their help, I was able to continue breastfeeding for a full year, and I always recommend them to my friends.
I have worked with Diane Litwin for both of my children. When I first met Diane, I was struggling with breastfeeding my baby born at 37 week. He wasn’t gaining his weight and we had to go in for weight checks at our peds frequently. I had enough breast milk supply but breastfeeding just wasn’t working. Then… I met Diane and our life changed. With our first visit, she immediately noted my son’s tongue tie and lip tie. She showed me proper breastfeeding positions. She showered me with encouragements and reassurance. She gave us recommendations on who to reach out to for tongue tie and lip tie release. Once the release was done, Diane made sure we knew how to do the mouth stretching to ensure a great result from the release. With her help and release, my son went from taking 0.8 oz to 3 oz in 20 min of breastfeeding. We were able to pretty much exclusively breastfeed when I’m home until he was about 10 months. When I was pregnant with my second baby, I reached out to Diane before I gave birth to ensure she had an opening available because I didn’t want to see anyone BUT Diane! My daughter was born at 36 weeks and we desperately needed help with breastfeeding as she was born early and small. We are currently working together on my breastfeeding journey with my daughter and it’s going beautifully. Going from having blisters on my nipples to pain free breastfeeding, I can’t thank Diane enough!! I always recommend Diane to anyone in need of lactation help. Her passion and love for lactation have led me to wanting to and starting study lactation myself. You will not regret working with Diane! Her schedule books up quickly (which also shows how good she is at what she does) so make sure to book Diane ahead of time!!
I booked a consultation with Jenny when my son was a month old. Like most mamas in the comments, I was experiencing discomfort during breastfeeding and had issues getting my son to latch on properly. There were days where I breastfed ALL day, and I knew that wasn’t normal even at the newborn stage. During my visit, Jenny examined my son and pointed out that he had a lip & tongue tie and explained that it was most likely the cause of my pain. Not only did she identify the issue, but she also provided me with tips for increasing my milk supply since it had dropped significantly after I got mastitis. I was on the verge of giving up even after I had my first consultation; the exhaustion of having to pump every two hours when I was already sleep deprived was tough, but Jenny helped me through it, and after several visits, I felt better and more confident about breastfeeding. My son is now 11 months old and I’m still successfully breastfeeding. All I can say is THANK YOU JENNY 🤍
We had a wonderful experience with Liba, who brought caring, thoughtfulness and humor to all our sessions. We would highly recommend her to anyone seeking a provider!
Response from the owner:Thank you for the kind words and recommendation! Liba will be so touched to hear that her caring, thoughtful approach (with a little humor!) made a difference. We’re honored to have supported your family. — Lactation Room Team
I just wish I had known about this place when I had my firstborn. This is what it truly means to have a village supporting you!

I worked with Jenny on so many issues starting from week one, and she had a thoughtful plan for every single one. She helped us through my baby’s recovery from lip and tongue tie surgery, identified the causes of her gas and acid reflux, and even taught my husband and me how to help our baby release some of the worst trapped gas. My baby was happy again! We were able to enjoy our baby as she wasn’t crying anymore from all the gas and she was nursing!

Two months later, I developed an oversupply issue, and my baby was choking during feeds — once again, Jenny had a solution. She has been a huge support throughout my motherhood journey.

I can’t recommend Jenny enough! I am very thankful for everything that I learned from her.
We came to the Lactation Room when our baby was only a few days old at the recommendation of the hospital lactation consultants and we are so glad we did. Mary and Liba were with us every step of the way as we navigated feeding our first baby, a challenging latch, and ultimately a tongue and lip tie release. I truly do not know how we would have made it through the first several months without them.
I worked with providers at Lactation Room with both of my babies, and I am so thankful for the skilled, compassionate care I got from both Sarah Early and Mary Bailey. I would not have been able to continue breastfeeding my first kiddo without their expert guidance. They supported me through the tongue and lip tie release process and helped me go from toe-curling pain each time I nursed, to happily breastfeeding my baby until he was 2.5 years old!
With my second baby, I noticed right away that he is latch was painful and my nipples were getting damaged, so I emailed them from the hospital! An appointment with Mary was our first order of business after discharge. She helped me with positioning to increase my comfort and improve his milk transfer, and encouraged me to take him for craniosacral therapy to help him poop more easily and reduce the tension in his body. After we had worked on his body and tummy time for a couple of weeks, Mary expertly supported us through the process of getting his tongue and lip ties released, including the aftercare. I had another beautiful nursing journey, and when I had challenges with bottle refusal and then later needing guidance on gentle weaning, Mary was there to guide me. I’m so thankful for her support!
Excellent lactation consultants! Diane from lactation room truly saved my first breastfeeding journey and helped me a lot on my second very different journey. Some LCs have options for office visits or at home visits (with a travel fee), and are very easy to contact via the message portal whenever you need. From weighted feeds to nursing positions to pumping and intros to solids—the LCs at lactation room are extremely helpful and supportive. I’ve recommended lactation room and Diane to several DMV area Moms in the last few years, and am now finally adding my 5 star review here as well!
I met Diane through a recommendation from a friend after my 3rd baby was born and WOW I am so glad to have met her! Diane is the real deal and her knowledge and expertise on breastfeeding is unparalleled. Our baby had multiple ties and structural oral challenges and Diane skillfully guided us through the process before and after we had them released to improve breastfeeding. I fully trust that Diane keeps up to date with the latest evidence and techniques and takes you seriously when you have a concern! Let me speak to her kindness and commitment to her clients- once you are in her care she makes sure that you feel like you have all the support and tools you need- even if that means after hours. I also struggled through significant postpartum anxiety that eventually affected my ability to exclusively breastfeed- Diane gently, compassionately and non- judgmentally guided me through combo feeding which allowed me to continue to breastfeed past a year (still going!) I can't recommend her more highly!
I was referred to the lactation room by my pediatrician, and I am so grateful for their incredible team! Mary and Liba were thoughtful, patient, empathetic, and warm and made me, my newborn, and husband all feel at ease instantly. They provided tons of hands on support and continued to check in virtually between appointments with tips and encouragement. They also worked hard to provide a detailed care plan that was tailored to my needs and lifestyle. I was very anxious about my feeding journey, and Mary and Liba made it a really wonderful experience. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
I was struggling with sore breasts, fullness, and inflammation (clogged duct) while weaning my toddler from breastfeeding, so I decided to try the red light therapy offered at Lactation Room. After one treatment, the clog had noticeably diminished and my breasts were feeling much more comfortable. After 3 treatments on 3 consecutive days, I’m fully comfortable with no more soreness or inflammation. I would highly recommend the red light treatment for any breast inflammation, clogs, or mastitis!
I am so glad I was referred to Lactation room by my OBGYN 3 years ago and more specifically I am grateful to have met Diane then as well. My breastfeeding journey with my firstborn started out very rocky. I was struggling with feedings and just figuring out being a first time mom in general. I took an in home visit/appointment with Diane and since that day she taught me so much. I went from a confused mom to one with more confidence with what I was doing. From breastfeeding techniques to simple guidance on cues and other baby matters as well as my own matters with breastfeeding, she took her time to explain every detail and was very responsive to all my questions. Three years later, and I had to make sure I had her by my side again for my second born! She truly makes a difference. Thank you so much Diane!
Diane Litwin has been a wonderful support in our breastfeeding journey and tongue tie revision process. I've used a different lactation consultant for each of my four kids and found Diane the most helpful, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. I've appreciated her quick responses to questions and willingness to make time for us - she even saw us on a holiday after the tongue tie procedure. Thank you, Diane!
Response from the owner:Hi Anna!! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experienced. We are so happy to hear you had a great experience with Diane, it sounds like she took wonderful care of you and your family. Warmest Regards, The Lactation Room Team
I worked with Ania Gold for both of my sons, and she was so amazing! She not only provided the support and reassurance I needed for lactation, but she also went above and beyond with advice on introducing solids, improving baby sleep, reflux, tummy time, and so much more. Having the option for home and office visits was so convenient. She was so patient, kind, and empathetic - it was just the extra support I needed as a new mom for my first son and then a mom of two with my second son. I can’t thank her enough!
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for this beautiful review! We’re so happy to hear how much of an impact Ania had on your journey, not just with lactation, but across all the stages of early parenthood. Her dedication, warmth, and holistic support truly make her special, and we’re so glad she could be there for you with both of your sons. It means so much to know we were able to provide the care and reassurance you needed. Wishing your family all the best as your little ones continue to grow! Warmest, Lactation Room Team
The Lactation Room’s atmosphere is really lovely with a boutique upscale feel. They offer water and coffee which is just fine nice detail.

Specifically, Dawn Graham is a wonderful IBCLC. She had an answer to every question and multiple recommendations ready for any product I was curious about adding to my routine. She was able to tell me what was working with my daily practice and what to eliminate or add in. She provided exercises to help with our baby’s ‘biting’ when she latched. She is so knowledgeable, clear, and great with the baby. I feel so much more confident breastfeeding my baby after visits with her.

Highly recommend!
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re so glad you felt comfortable and cared for at The Lactation Room, we put a lot of heart into creating a calm and welcoming space for families. Dawn is such a knowledgeable and compassionate IBCLC, and we’re thrilled to hear how supported and confident you felt after working with her. Your trust means everything to us, and we’re honored to be part of your breastfeeding journey. Thank you so much for choosing us<3 Warmest, Lactation Room Team
I am so thankful to Jenny at the Lactation Room. I went to her originally with my first baby and unfortunately due to latching and major supply issues, I struggled to breastfeed/pump for my son. It took a toll on my mental health and I was so sure I wouldn't be successful breastfeeding with my second baby. This time, I saw Jenny much earlier (within a week of my daughter being born). I was already having supply issues and my daughter was taking over 45 minutes to finish a small bottle. Jenny immediately identified that my daughter had a lip and tongue tie (something even the pediatrician and hospital staff didn't catch) and we were able to get it corrected the next week. Jenny encouraged me to pump in addition to breastfeed during this time when I was able. I did this until my daughter was healed from the tongue and lip tie procedure and she was latching great. At my follow up appt with Jenny, a weighted feeding had me transferring (to my surprise) 4.8oz of milk, when 2 weeks before and during my entire 5 months of pumping with my son, I only ever got 1-2 oz max months in. Now I am only having to supplement with 1-2oz of formula every day and am successfully breastfeeding my daughter. Jenny is wonderful and was so kind and encouraging through what can be an emotional and exhausting process.
We had an incredible experience working with Ania at the Lactation Room. Ania is extremely knowledgeable, effective, and genuinely cares about her clients. At every appointment, Ania carefully listened to us, effectively diagnosed our breastfeeding issues, and then worked with us to fix them. Her diagnosis and instructions were always accurate. After working with Ania, our newborn was gaining weight at a healthy rate and breastfeeding was no longer a painful experience to suffer through. We feel extremely fortunate to have worked with Ania and highly recommend her to anyone seeking help from a lactation consultant.
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re so happy to hear that working with Ania made such a meaningful difference for your family. Her deep knowledge and compassionate care truly shine in moments like these, and we’re so glad she was able to guide you through the challenges and help make breastfeeding a more comfortable and successful experience. We’re grateful for your trust and kind recommendation! Warmest, Lactation Room Team
Mary and Liba helped so much with our early nursing discomfort. Later, their help getting my flanges sized made a huge difference in my pumping comfort when I returned to work.
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for your kind words! We're so glad Mary and Liba were able to support you both early on with nursing and later with pumping — getting the right flange fit can make such a huge difference, and we’re thrilled it helped ease your return to work. It means so much to be part of your journey. Wishing you all the best as you continue! Warmest, Lactation Room Team
We are incredibly grateful to Ania for the amazing support she gave us throughout our breastfeeding journey. From the early days of navigating our son’s tongue and lip tie to helping us improve his latch and even guiding us when he was struggling to take a bottle — Ania was there every step of the way.

She supported not just me as a second-time mom, but also my baby and my husband, making all of us feel heard, cared for, and truly supported. Her expertise, kindness, and empathy made a world of difference during what could have been an overwhelming time.

Now that we’ve reached one full year of breastfeeding — something that once felt so uncertain — I can’t help but reflect on how big a role she played in making this journey so meaningful and rewarding. We feel incredibly lucky to have had her by our side. Thank you, Ania!
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for sharing this, it truly means the world to us. We’re so honored to have supported your family throughout your breastfeeding journey, and we're especially touched to hear how seen and cared for you all felt along the way. Ania brings so much heart and expertise to her work, and we’re thrilled she could help guide you through every stage, from the early challenges to the huge milestone of a full year of breastfeeding. What an incredible accomplishment, thank you for letting us be part of it! Warmest, Lactation Room Team
I worked with Anya from the Lactation Room when my daughter was a month old. As a formula feeding family, I was incredibly nervous about visiting a lactation specialist - and worried about being judged. Anya helped me feel supported and safe as we worked together to figure out my daughter’s feeding needs. I’m endlessly grateful for her help!
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for sharing this kind and heartfelt review. It means the world to us that you felt supported and safe during such an important time. We’re here to help every family feel empowered. Ania will be so touched to hear how much her care meant to you. We’re so grateful to have been part of your journey and honored to support you and your little one. -Lactation Room
Our son had a significant tongue tie issue. Our pediatrician recommended the Lactation room to us and it was one of the best things that could have happened to us and our son. We had the great pleasure of working with Mary and Liba throughout our journey. Their experience and expertise immediately became apparent. They immediately jumped into action and directed a support team for us that helped us through months of support and care. We will forever be grateful for our time with Lactation Room. We feel confident in supporting our baby’s feeding and his oral challenges have been addressed. Now, we have a peace of mind that we have set our son up to be successful because of their collective early interventions. We cannot recommend Mary and Liba strongly enough.
I had a gut feeling my 4.5-month-old son had a tongue tie, so I scheduled a consult with Jenny, and sure enough, he had a lip and tongue tie. She was so kind, even while I was a hot mess. My son was crying, squirming, and even spitting up all over her floor during my first appointment. After her diagnosis, I quickly scheduled her recommended pediatric dentist for his release, and with Jenny's guidance and advice... he's 100% symptom free!! No colic, no reflux, no fussing. He's even taking a bottle! I'm so incredibly thankful for Jenny and the Lactation Room. I seriously don't know what I would have done without her! I'm looking forward to at least another 7 months of breastfeeding, and I couldn't be more excited to finally have a HAPPY BABY!
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for sharing your story and for the kind words! We're so glad you trusted your instincts and found your way to us. Jenny is truly amazing, and we're thrilled to hear that her support and guidance helped bring relief, not just for your little one, but for you too. It’s incredible to hear how much progress your baby has made, and we’re honored to have played a part in your breastfeeding journey. Wishing you many more joyful, snuggly, and peaceful months ahead with your happy baby! With gratitude, The Lactation Room Team
I first sought out support from Lactation Room with the birth of my son in February 2022. I was a first time mom in the middle of the pandemic experiencing weight gain issues with my son. My company sent me a few in network lactation consultants and that’s how I discovered Lactation Room. Ever since I first met Ania in our first appointment with a two week old baby, I knew she’d support me and my baby to make it through this challenging time. With her guidance, I was able to stop using a nipple shield and get my baby to latch well. I better understood how to use my pump and the importance of flange sizes. She even did a home visit for us as I was returning to work. I breastfed my son for over a year and I owe it all to Ania’s support and attention to our specific needs. Flash forward to April 2025, I welcomed my second baby and knew from her first latch that something wasn’t right. I again reached out to Lactation Room for support and was so happy to see Ania was available to see us 3 days after my daughter was born. Ania helped us work through my daughter’s severe oral restrictions and put together a plan to protect my supply during those early weeks. She helped me and my husband fully understand the situation and guided us through our options. She even went out of her way to expedite our procedure with a high quality provider. Now 5 weeks after my daughter’s birth, I can exclusively breastfeed her without pain and she is gaining weight beautifully! We have officially “graduated” from Lactation Room for the second time. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for Ania and her ability to navigate parents through difficult and new situations to support our babies. Thank you so much!
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for taking the time to share your journey with us, not once, but twice! We are truly honored to have walked alongside you through both of your breastfeeding experiences. Your kind words about Ania mean the world to us, she is deeply dedicated to meeting each family's unique needs with compassion, expertise, and care. It’s incredible to hear how far you’ve come, from those early days with your son to now being able to exclusively breastfeed your daughter without pain. Your perseverance and love for your babies shines through every part of your story, and we’re so grateful you trusted us to be a part of it. Congratulations on “graduating” again, we’re cheering you on always!
Lactation consultant Mary Bailey is our super hero!!! We are beyond grateful for her support. Our baby was having a lot of difficulty feeding, not gaining weight and screaming 10 hours per day due to gas pain. After a SINGLE appointment with Mary, where she diagnosed the problems and taught us how to fix them, our baby started doing amazingly!! She is growing great, smiling, and everyone enjoys feeding time now. We will be forever grateful to Mary!!
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled to hear how much of a difference just one visit with Mary made for your family. She is truly a superhero in our eyes too, her dedication, knowledge, and ability to quickly identify and solve feeding challenges is such a gift. We’re so happy to hear your baby is now thriving, growing, and enjoying feeding time, it’s what we always hope for! Thank you again for trusting us to be part of your journey.<3 With gratitude, The Lactation Room Team
I am so grateful to have found Ania Gold. She is absolutely amazing at what she does and I owe all of my success nursing to her. She is compassionate, kind, and knowledgeable. She is very responsive to any messages I send and I feel she truly cares about me and my baby. I would highly recommend Ania to any expecting mother. She gave me the exact type of direction and advice I needed to exclusively breastfeed.
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your review! We are so happy that Ania was able to support you and your family and help you achieve your feeding journey
Our daughter would gag and push out any bottle we would try to give her one. We tried about 6 bottles before making an appointment. Misty helped us and now our daughter will take a bottle and I can go back to work with one less thing to worry about. I had three appointments and she taught my husband, mom, and dad how to position baby, hold the bottle, and support baby’s cheeks. She was very responsive and checked in throughout the month. She also helped me with my oversupply and mastitis. I feel like she went above and beyond. Very happy!!
Response from the owner:We are so glad that you and your baby are doing so well! We do understand how stressful it can be and are happy that Misty was able to support you all in meeting your goals. Thank you for choosing Lactation Room!
An incredible company full of wonderful professionals. The insight and experience from each consultant I have gotten the pleasure to work with has been unparalleled. Look no further!
I am so grateful to have Misty as my lactation consultant. She helped me with bottle feeding, pumping, and breastfeeding. Even if your issues aren’t seemingly major, I highly recommend coming in. I have learned so much and my baby has come such a long way. Misty is an amazing person!
Our family will be forever grateful to Diane Litwin for the incredible support and guidance she provided on our breastfeeding journey. After a difficult and traumatic birth, breastfeeding felt overwhelming and nearly impossible, but Diane stepped in as a true lifeline. Her patience, expertise, and unwavering encouragement were exactly what we needed during such a vulnerable time.

From the beginning, she listened with compassion and guided us every step of the way, ensuring I felt empowered and confident in feeding my daughter. Thanks to her, we overcame every challenge, and I am thrilled to say that I’ve been able to exclusively breastfeed my 11-month-old daughter so far (while also managing to pump at work as a busy healthcare professional) something I never thought possible without her support.

Diane is a gift to anyone starting or struggling with their breastfeeding journey. Her dedication to her work and to helping mothers and babies is truly unmatched. If you’re searching for a compassionate, knowledgeable, and empowering lactation consultant, I couldn’t recommend her more. She’s made an incredible impact on our lives, and we’ll forever be grateful!
I wish I found Lactation Room sooner! Everyone here is fantastic and so supportive of wherever you are in your breastfeeding journey. What I really appreciate is how easy it is to communicate with LCs through the messaging portal.
The team at Lactation Room have been tremendously helpful to me as a first time mom! With their guidance I’ve found great success and joy in breastfeeding my baby. With each new feeding challenge that has come up, the advice from Mary has allowed us to move forward successfully. She is extremely responsive via chat when I have questions between appointments and always sends detailed notes after our appointment (which my mom brain really appreciates)! I can’t recommend Lactation Room enough, even if your BF journey is going well they will help ensure long term success for you and your baby. Thank you so much Mary and team🧡
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re absolutely thrilled to hear that your experience with Lactation Room has been so positive, and that Mary’s guidance has been helpful in your breastfeeding journey. It’s wonderful to know that her responsiveness and detailed notes have made a difference, especially during such a special time as a first-time mom. We’re honored to be part of your breastfeeding journey and are here for you every step of the way. Your recommendation means the world to us, and we look forward to continuing to support you and your baby! With gratitude, The Lactation Room Team
I have been under the care of Sarah since the summer of 2023 and she has been an enormous blessing in my life. I was having some breast-related health issues that I wanted her support on, and she was able to take me on as a patient and begin helping me understand my issues and my body so much better. She listens with so much empathy and kindness. She is truly one of the BEST providers I've ever had, and I have had a lot of providers. I always know I can count on her and her team to be responsive, attentive, fair, and so kind. I highly recommend the Lactation Room and Sarah Early!
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're beyond thrilled to hear how much Sarah has made a positive impact on your care and health journey. Our goal at the Lactation Room is to provide compassionate and personalized care, and we're delighted that Sarah's empathy and expertise have been a source of support for you. Your recommendation means the world to us, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to assist you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there’s anything else we can do to support you in the future. Warmly, The Lactation Room Team
I’ve been working with Jenny for the past 6 months. She is AMAZING and I wish I had started seeing her before my son was born! We started after my son’s tongue tie revision, ensuring he was latching and swallowing correctly, and then later she helped me wean from pumping. Not only did we meet in-person or over zoom, but I could send her messages if I had quick (frantic 😂) questions any time of day. I tell all my friends in the area to go to the Lactation Room, and that having a lactation consultant is an absolute game changer postpartum. Can’t recommend them enough!
Met with Misty 1 week postpartum and her support and understanding was invaluable to my mental health when in a deep place of struggle. She was understanding and honest with me and so compassionate about helping me as a first time mom navigate what it means to feed my baby. I can’t recommend her and the Lactation Room enough for all your BF needs and questions as well as addressing struggles. Wish I had gone to them sooner but glad to have gone when I did. Thank you, Misty!
Response from the owner:What a wonderful review! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We are thrilled Misty was able to provide the support you needed!
We had consultations at the Lactation Room (Rockville location, Mary and Alice were so great!!) while I was pregnant, to prepare for breastfeeding, then ran into issues early on and had a home visit/first meeting with Jenny (office location in Mount Airy) when our baby was just one week old. At that time I didn't think I could carry on with breastfeeding my baby, and was physically in pain and very disheartened. From the moment we met her, Jenny has been and continues to be such an amazing and helpful presence, she has seen us through the hardest times and made it possible for our son to be exclusively breastfed to 6 months of age at this point, feeling great about going for 6 more. She has introduced us to other specialists and is always so responsive and kind when we reach out with all kinds of questions and concerns. Jenny, we couldn't ever be where we are without you, and you are just fantastic, thank you so so so much for everything!!!
When I first came to the lactation room I was doubtful that I would be able to nurse my babies. They were premature (born at 34 weeks), had been tube fed, and were not home from the NICU until about one month old. Jenny helped to teach me how to position the girls properly and make sure they were latching. I was able to nurse one of my girls for 7 months. The other one still had some trouble with her sucking and swallowing but Jenny also helped me to feel more comfortable with bottle feeding and pacing the baby. Both of my babies are healthy weights and growing! Before we came to the lactation room they were under 5 pounds. Thank you so much Jenny and services of TLR!
Absolutely recommend this place and their services.
I’m seeing Jenny to help with my oversupply, so that I can get back to breast-feeding, rather than exclusively pumping. I already see a change after the very first visit. Everyone has been so incredibly helpful and readily available to help. I’ve had several questions since my visit and it’s literally a matter of minutes before jenny gets back to me. Before I met with her, I was emailing back-and-forth with Brittney over the Christmas holiday and she even responded to my email on Christmas! So very grateful for these ladies… as a first time mom, I felt the weight lifted from my shoulders after my very first visit.
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for the lovely review of your experience. We appreciate that you have taken the time to share your experience with us and so thankful that you are receiving the support you need!
As a first time mom I felt so lost when it came to breastfeeding. I started working with Misty at the Lactation Room last year when my daughter was born and I truly can’t say enough positive things about her and the other IBCLC’s at the Lactation Room! My daughter had a lip and tongue tie that her pediatrician overlooked, after struggling with nursing, and meeting with Misty, she confirmed it. After we got my daughter’s ties released, Misty helped us with latching and ensuring she was feeding effectively. I just wanted to say I am so grateful for all the help, and thankful! To any mom who is struggling or lost, check out the Lactation Room!
Not just if your breast feeding. Learned so much and feel much more confident with all things about feeding my newborn. Jessica and Cam are baby whisperers. If your insurance covers, go. Just go.
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for the lovely reply! We appreciate you taking the time to share about the experience you had working with your consultants, and are even more thrilled that you are feeling so much more confident feeding your baby!
I can't speak highly enough about the Lactation Room, specifically our consultant Mary! As a new mom, it is overwhelming to try learning how to breastfeed before your little one arrives and even more difficult when you are in the hospital and have no clue what to do. My family met with Mary the day after we got home and it was instantly a game changer. She spent that first session helping us latch, observing the feeding, walking us through what a typical feeding might look like, giving tips, and answering all of our questions. From there, we scheduled follow-ups on an as needed basis and had access to a messaging portal for any questions that could be answered without an in-person meeting. Mary was amazing with quick responses and reliable information. The added plus of home visits was even more convenient as she could help us in our own space and we didn't need to venture out if we didn't want to. As much as I wish my journey was easy, feeding proved to be a challenge with our little one including a tongue and lip tie, but Mary was there every step of the way giving encouragement, referrals, and resources. We felt like she became a part of our family for those first few months and saw just how caring, compassionate, and committed she is to her work. If you are a new mom and planning to breastfeeding, don't do it alone and seek help early! Even if everything goes great, it's always nice to have a resource available.
I went to Lactation Room in Mt. Airy. I saw Jenny Busbey, RN, BSN, IBCLC for all of my appointments and she was so sweet and absolutely fantastic! My baby had a tongue tie and lip tie. She severely traumatized (deep cracks, severe bruising, ulcerations, etc.) my nipples while trying to nurse at the hospital. By the time we got home I just couldn’t even try to nurse anymore from the pain and had to start pumping, but my dream was to exclusively breastfeed so I was crushed! I thought we would never be able to breast feed and there were a lot of tears shed.

At our first visit with Lactation Room Jenny did a very thorough consultation and came up with a personalized plan for my baby, recommending additional medical professionals (i.e. for tongue and lip tie removal) as indicated and giving me words of encouragement when I needed them most. I’m so happy to report that every week my baby’s nursing improved so much and at 5 weeks post-partum we are exclusively breast feeding! The bonding time while nursing my baby has been so special and I’m so thankful we got here. It just took a little time, perseverance and expert help 😊 Jenny also gave me advice for pumping milk effectively and safely when I return to work in a few weeks! I have several friends who also went to Jenny for help with breastfeeding and all told me how amazing she was - they were so right! The mom tribe knows best! 😁 The Mt. Airy location for Lactation Room is clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated, and I love that they are able to do home visits as well - it was so nice right after my c-section to not have to leave the comfort of home.

If you are hoping to breast feed and need help, even if you’re worried it will never happen like I was that first night home from the hospital, reach out to Lactation Room before giving up! And I cannot recommend Jenny enough!! 💕
Response from the owner:Thank you so much for using Lactation Room and for the lovely review. We are thrilled that your experience with Jenny was so helpful! We appreciate your trust in our care.
Jenny did so much more than just help us with our breastfeeding journey, she truly changed the trajectory of my twins’ lives! She referred me to other resources to help with lip and tongue ties, as well as torticollis. She validated my feelings and concerns and genuinely shared excitement in our successes. She assisted with my pumping schedule. She made sure I felt confident in our future after our time at Lactation Room was done, and has even checked in with us to make sure we are still doing alright! I went from being 2 months postpartum and my babies never being able to latch, to 3 months in and successfully feeding both of them in one sitting without supplementing. I know we wouldn’t be where we are today without her and for that I will be forever grateful. Thanks so much, Jenny!
Sarah and her team at Lactation Room are great!! Easy to talk to and you can tell she really cares about helping you find the best plan for you and your baby. Highly recommend!
As a first time mom, the Lactation Room really helped with my breastfeeding journey! Misty was wonderful and able to confirm my daughter having oral ties. Once we had her ties released, we met with Misty weekly to ensure breastfeeding would continue to work for us. Highly recommend to anyone looking for support!
These ladies...these amazing ladies...they are truly what any new mother needs. I have had such a challenge breastfeeding my baby that I was literally one step away from putting her on formula. I felt so isolated because it seemed there is nothing anyone can do to take the pain and the discomfort away on top of feeling guilty 100% of the time. Until I found lactation room team and Jessica. More impatient I got, more patient they became and they stayed with me until they made sure the problem was solved. And now I am breastfeeding exclusively and I could not be happier!
Clean place and very easy to find. Knowledgeable IBCLCs.
Sarah, the owner of Lactation Room, has single handedly made breastfeeding successful for me and my 5th baby! When nursing wasn't going well at first, Sarah became my "Zoom-a-professional" and was able to walk and talk me through our initial challenges. Sarah shared her wisdom to get us through some very tough nursing sessions and an unhappy baby. Ultimately she connected us with a Pediatric Dentist and it was determined that my son had a lip tie as well as a tongue tie. I was hesitant to proceed with the release because I felt like I was being selfish. Sarah didn't persuade me one way or the other; she simply presented me with research and anecdotal evidence so that I could make the decision on my own. As a healthcare worker myself, that was VERY important and made me feel EXTRA confident in Sarah's professional viewpoint and manner. Without Sarah, I would have likely given up breastfeeding; so having her expertise has been invaluable!! I am forever grateful for her!
Jenny has been such a great resource for our growing family! She always makes me feel at ease and is so helpful when it comes to quickly identifying breastfeeding issues. We’ve seen her with both of our daughters and she helped us deal with a serious tongue and lip tie with our oldest. I recommend her to all of my friends and trust her opinion and expertise!
Lactation Room was so helpful to me and my baby and helped us work through the difficulties we had. They were knowledgeable, kind and had a practical approach for us to follow. I had a second consult and we covered how to incorporate bottles and pumping for my return to work. We visited them in the office and really appreciated all of their safety precautions they are taking during Covid to keep us safe. They take our temperatures before we arrive, wear PPE and are keeping the amount of people in the office limited to avoid exposure. I am so happy I reached out to them and would highly recommend! They definitely helped us get set up to have a successful breastfeeding journey.
We called Lactation Room for help with feeding our baby and we were thrilled that they offer Virtual appointments! We live in another state but have heard great things about the lactation support they provide. Sarah was professional, kind and did a great job helping us work through milk supply concerns and gave my girlfriend tips for how to get the baby to latch better. After working on the suggestions we definitely saw improvement. If you need help, no matter where you live, call Lactation Room!
Jenny was kind and supportive! Lactation Room is an amazing resource for Montgomery County. We saw Jenny once a week for a month as we worked to wean off the nipple shield and correct a poor latch. She helped to identify a tongue and lip tie. Following the procedure, she helped us with the mouth exercises for healing and continued to help with the latch. She patiently answered all the questions I had at each visit and provided a lot of useful information. We are still working on towards enjoyable pain-free breastfeeding but Jenny certainly helped us a lot on our journey! My only complaint was that my husband was unable to join me at the visits due to restrictions for COVID safety. I understand the need for such restrictions but worry that not including both parents in the process has the potential to lead to a reduced length of time breastfeeding.
If you’re looking for exceptional lactation support, you’ve found it! As a first time mom, breastfeeding has been my number one priority. In July, I met with Jenny for an intro to all things breastfeeding. She covered everything and patiently answered all of my questions. She truly taught me everything I know, while also educating me on what to expect and how to troubleshoot various scenarios. My son was born healthy in August. It’s November, and I’ve had Jenny’s support at least once every three weeks since he arrived. Our breastfeeding journey hasn’t been easy — many people have encouraged me to quit and “just go to formula” (including my pediatrician!). Jenny has PATIENTLY worked with us, both in person and virtually, to guide us through. I’ve messaged her late at night in tears, and she’s always responded promptly and with a ton of strategies. Whenever I feel like I should “have this down by now,” I’m comforted by Jenny’s support and wealth of knowledge. She has never made me feel bad or like I’m doing something wrong. In fact, working with her has been quite the opposite. Now I’m convinced that my son will randomly struggle, just so we can go back into the office to see Jenny! If you are looking for holistic, pro-mama and baby lactation group, don’t hesitate to reach out. It isn’t easy getting the support you need during a pandemic, but Lactation Room has it down.
I went to the lactation room after having trouble weaning my baby from a shield. I met with Mary one when my baby was about two weeks old time and she gave a bigger shield to help him learn to open his mouth more and taught both me and my baby quite a few things to make breastfeeding more successful. We lraftic w at home then a little over a week later we went back for our follow up and were able to show her our success and get some more insight. I recommend mom who is new at breastfeeding to visit The Lactation Room, and of possible, see Mary. I should also mention that I went during COVID and felt very safe. Mary met us outside, took our temperature before we even left our car, and followed COVID precautions carefully the entire visit.
Knowledgeable, thoughtful and compassionate lactation experts and staff
Jenny is amazing. She has worked with us for the past 9 weeks. She goes above and beyond the one hour visits. I always have a bunch of questions and the first couple weeks as a new mom where hard for me. She always answered quickly and never loss patience and always gave me the time I needed. Everyone else I have come in contact with at the lactation room is great as well. Leslie the PT person was extremely sweet and calm and helped us as much as she could given our situation. Sara and Dr. Khurana did her tongue tie procedure. Dr. K also went above and beyond and answered us into the night day of procedure. Even the admin staff Katie and Barbara are lovely to work with. I highly recommend everyone there. We still have a ways to go in our breastfeeding journey but I know I will be supported with this staff.
My son recently had a tongue and lip tie correction. I live in another state so Sarah set up a virtual consult with me. She showed me some stretches to work on and sent additional material. She was very knowledgeable, helpful and understanding with my questions. Definitely recommend, no matter where you live!
Video consultation works surprisingly well! It was so wonderfully helpful to be able to talk with a friendly, knowledgeable lactation consultant from home. She was able to answer my questions and give advice as well as show me exactly what she was talking about and see me and my baby all through the video conferencing portal. I was so thankful my baby and I were able to get the help we need without leaving the house!
Great and knowledgeable staff! They were the 3rd lactation service I’ve experienced and provided the most individualized assistance. They listened and integrated my feedback into their suggestions, which I had not experienced- it helped to ease a lot of the frustrations my son and I were having.
