Sarah created Lactation Room because she realized there was a gap for families who needed support after leaving the hospital or birth center. Her teaching revolves around a holistic approach taking into consideration personal needs, physiological challenges and individual circumstances. Sarah went back to school to get her RN while her own kids were in school and spent the first years of her nursing career in the Maternal Child world and is in school again for an MSN-FNP. Now with three college-age kids, Sarah is focused on addressing the needs of new families in the community. She provides breastfeeding support at their Rockville office location. She is an active member of ILCA, USLCA, IATP and MBC.
Plate spinner, comforter, teacher, wife, mother, finder of all things, and administrative assistant to one of the best lactation practices around. After breastfeeding seven babies, Ashlee, found herself struggling to breastfeed her 8th baby and learned a ton of breastfeeding tips. Her desire to work through those struggles is what lead her to Lactation Room and created a passion for helping others on their breastfeeding journey began. She has since dug into the world of breastfeeding, postpartum care, and natural living while helping take care of things behind the scenes at Lactation Room. Most days you will find her on her homestead baking sourdough bread, homeschooling kids, yarn in her hands, and with a smile on her face.
